• So, sometimes I try to squeeze a little work in while my sweet 18month old plays around, usually this sorta thing happens. Anyways, here is a new nesting bowl set and a couple utensil holders vases that I'll be bringing to the sale this coming weekend. I'm not going to post them to Etsy first... (See attached photo) but will try to post what's available after the weekend is over.
  • Threw a large bowl today, my biggest yet. It's tricky, I don't want to play with it too much on the wheel because I'm really drawn to thick defined swirls, so it makes it more difficult to get BIG. My only trick is to wedge the clay really well before joining them... Does anyone else have any good marbling tricks? p.s. You can't see the marbling yet, I used red and speckled beige clay which both look red-y brown at this state, I probably won't see much definition until it's bisqued! How fun!
  • Hiya! (With my biggest platter ever - now how to trim this baby is another question?!?)
  • Spent the day being memorized by the crazy skills of who was giving a workshop to the SLPG. Once again reminded how deep this ocean of learning ceramics is and how my toes have barely hit water.

  • It's these thick defined swirls that I love. My mind seems to understand how fine marbled lines could happen, but this? This is what I'm chasing right now.
  • Shorts + boots + roadside blooms.
  • Last month I went to a workshop and was so inspired I had to bring a piece home with me. This is my new wine cup, which was thrown on the wheel, manipulated and then fired 4 times! It's so beautiful and I love having this reminder of his miticulous work, attention to detail, and and care for his pieces. So inspiring!

  • A mug I made recently where I pulled the handle attached to the body. It's a method I need lots of practice at and it's on my summer goal list. I usually pull the handles and attach afterwards.
  • Best time of year!

  • Winner announced this evening for the giveaway. See a few posts back. These ladies are amazing and it's been so fun getting to know them! We all have wee home business and live within 20km... which in this rural life is quite remarkable!
  • Good morning Marbling clay is seriously so much fun! Each one of these mugs were prepared for the wheel in the same manner, with basically the same clay proportions. They all come out totally different though, their own little personalities. Still some left in the shop!. ...... makersgonnashare
  • Evie having a little chat with the chickens. Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I'll be up and at 'em tomorrow for a glaze session before a full day of family birthday celebrations
  • Cheers to the weekend! Some short clips of goblet assembling process in my IG stories!
  • Mixing up glaze right along with you today I still find it slightly stressful, kinda like my old days as a nursing student, changing a dressing. It would take so long and be so stressful, until that time when it wasn't, and I could almost do it with my eyes closed. widn
  • The last glaze load is cooling right now! I gave myself wide margins and closed the Etsy shop for a couple weeks which has meant the prep time for my upcoming sale has been the most chill yet! coneartkilns
  • in a wheat field to assure you I'm alive... and working... 2nd bisque firing happening as I write, and then a whole bunch of glazing to be this week! With some nudging from my family I've attempted butter dishes and tea pots which both stretched my skills. Can't wait to show you them!

  • Thank you everyone who came out to Art in the Park! Seriously people, I feel entirely blessed to be able to pursue pottery and even though it's not at all about the sales... it kinda is. I mean who would continue with a basement full of unsellables (not kidding I've had bad dreams about this ). Your love and encouragement is amazing and I am so SO SOOOOO grateful !
