  • I usually pull my handles, and then attach the top and bottom to each mug. With my latest batch Ive been attaching the top of the handle to the mug, and pulling the handle while only the top is connected. Ive always been afraid that by doing it this way Ill pull the connected top off, but its way easier to get the correct handle size. Im excited to see how the newbies survive the bisque firing, and Im excited to have tried this fun, new, scary, method. mugshot

  • To minimize the chance of getting my darker clays on my lighter clays, I usually use a white clay for a week, a speckled clay for a week, and a chocolate clay for a week. So it breaks my heart that I only made a set of these, and really wont be making more for a month or two, but this picture is forever, so at least theres that. stoneware

  • Starting the day throwing more pounds than Im comfortable with, but its a good exercise to get better, and although its not the best thrown piece, I felt in control of the clay, its got a nice bottom, and the walls are even - but I did let the top open up a bit too much to have it come back in. Anyway.. so.. this piece will shrink to be a tea cup. Isnt that how it always seems, when you throw a bigger piece, and then see it bisqued? SWIPE to see it in a photo!potsinaction

  • Playing the plug-shuffle game with the kiln right now. Which is basically when you start taking out plugs to make it cool quicker, but then decide you should wait, so you put one back in, but then you just take a piece out because why not. studioceramics
  • This is a new glaze combo I tried out, and Im pretty sure its my favorite for colors, and the way the line of green meets the line of pinkpurple is what makes handmade so amazing, there really wont be another like this, because I cant plan for that. Anyway, I love how pastel this came out.
  • SOLDI basically only throw with white clay to do this exact glaze combination I love...
